Peanut Butter Pup-cakes!

I LOVE this recipe because it's safe and delicious for all your friends - whether they have two legs or four!

They're not too sweet, smothered in peanut butter, and actually quite healthy compared to your average gooey chocolate cupcake!

(And I'm sure your furry bestie will love feeling like part of the pack by sharing some of their delicious pup-cakes with their own best friend - you!)

Peanut Butter Pup-cakes

makes: 20 mini cupcakes or ten normal size

Ingredients:

  • ⅔ cup self-raising flour

  • ½ cup porridge oats

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ cup shredded carrots

  • ½ cup peanut butter

  • 1 banana

  • 1 large egg

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil

  • ½ cup honey

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • Extra smooth peanut butter for frosting

  • Dog biscuits to top (optional)

Method:

  1. Pre heat oven to 175°C, line cupcake tins with paper cases.

  2. Mix all ingredients in a bowl (adding in order) and distribute batter evenly between the cases.

  3. Bake for 15 minutes and leave to cool before icing.

  4. For an extra touch, use a disposable piping bag and fill with peanut butter. I used a small star nozzle and piped a little swirl on top. Finish with a little puppy biscuit on top.

  5. Note: Remember to remove the paper cases before feeding to your dog, and don't forget to leave a couple of cakes without doggy biscuits for your two-legged guests!

  6. Enjoy!
